Raised in an atmosphere of classical music and jazz in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin (outside Milwaukee), Dan's career began at the age of 15. Dan's greatest musical influences were his grandfather who was a drummer with a jazz band in the 40's and his mother who was the singer in this band and had her own radio show. Between jobs in various blues and rock bands, Dan attended the Milwaukee Conservatory of Music and the Nepeur Conservatory in Philadelphia.
Dan joined Paul Revere and The Raiders over 35 years ago and has since been a quarter finalist in the American Song Festival with his entry "Life Goes On". That's quite an accomplishment for a composer who lists Chopin among his musical influences. It is his fine musical knowledge and talents combined with a great sense of humor that make him so valuable to the Raiders.
