Santa and Rudolph had come down with the flu.
They'd placed a job ad, in order to find,
Another as jolly…as giving and kind.
From the hundreds of thousands of those who applied,
They chose Paul Revere, and his Raiders to ride!
Paul didn't need reindeers, nor even a sled,
He had, half an Edsel and“Raideers” instead.
In brand new red outfits…with matching red boots,
They went OUT ON THAT ROAD…to distribute their loot.
Carl, up in front… just without the red nose…
Played cow bell, sang jingles, while Paul "Ho, Ho Ho'ed".
"On Danny, on Douglas, on Omar and Ron”,
I know you're all HUNGRY, but we ain't half done!
Just think of the GOOD THING we're doing tonight,
And after Alaska, we'll get a quick bite!
Be glad you're not HIM, OR ME, "Big St. Dick"…
Who goes down the chimneys, while you get your KICKS!

The INDIAN RESERVATION is next.
“Quick!, look for the chapter on teepees and tents!”
LET ME remind you of what lies ahead,
We might have to trade-in this car, for a sled!
If you, think the last gig was tough, best THINK TWICE.

I was JUST SEVENTEEN, when I did that last time!
That Pepto is dismal… that ALIAS PINK PUZZ,
But now I’m not miserable… just have a nice buzz!

“Then Dan,… put us down on The White House front lawn.”
Hit them HARD AND HEAVY, WITH MARSHMALLOW cremes,
They’re the First Lady’s favorites… and George’s, it seems.
“Then Omar,… get ready… to yell as we leave…
‘Please SAVE THE COUNTRY‘, by next Christmas Eve!”

I had told Santa, that I HAD A DREAM,
And without TOO MUCH TALK, he said he agreed.
He knew if he granted, this one wish of mine,
It'd bring joy to many… and great PEACE OF MIND.
“Ok, now guys… WE GOTTA ALL GET TOGETHER,
All flying as one… just like BIRDS OF A FEATHER!”
“Yep,‘Baby Raider’… indeed, you have guessed… it’s…
One hell of A HEAVY CHRISTMAS MESSAGE!”

We come bearing gifts, for our Mike“Smitty” Smith,
But Santa outdid us… you can't "BEATNIK STICKS"!
We all had a laugh, and there was not a dry eye,
We could feel the time coming, that we must say goodbye.
Then it came… ROLLING THUNDER, the one warning sound,
The signal from Santa, that we had to come down.

So it’s,“HERE THEY COME now!”…“Aloha!, Hawaiians!”
Really!, TIME FLIES, WHEN YOU’RE HAVIN FUN flyin!
And now that we’ve finished our long MIDNIGHT RIDE.
We’ve all made our own GREATEST HITS Of Alltime!

I’ve got two things to do here… of my very own.
Really one,…I’ll be killing two birds with one stone.
So once I unload, my huge…“OO POO PAH DOO”,

When I saw these guys the building still had the plexiglas partitions up still but they packed the house to S.R.O. :)

Comments: In 1965, when I was 10 years old, I received my first PR&R album for Christmas. I was so excited when I saw that distinctive shape under the tree, than I opened it up, screamed, and re-taped the paper! Santa was soooo good to me that year! HA! I was very much "in love" with Phil Volk, aka Fang. I watched "Where The Action Is," "Hullabaloo," and "Shindig," religiously, just to catch a glimpse of my Raiders! I subscribed to "16 Magazine" and "Tiger Beat" for years just to get those special pics of the Raiders! Sadly, I never attended one of their concerts...that is, not until I was 20 years old! I saw them perform at "Carowinds" amusement park in 1975. Even though my Fang had moved on long before, I really enjoyed the show. It's great to know that Paul Revere & The Raiders are still going full force! After reading all of the posted comments, I think that I must try to catch one of their shows again! So, look for me, Paul...I'll be the tall blonde still wearing my "Fang Followers of the World Unite" pin!!! By the way...what ever happened to Fang? Does anybody know?

They give their all to every audience, large or small, and I agree that they are all extremely accomplished musicians, but even more so great people! I never seem to be able to say enough good things here or to all my friends. In fact, I don't think I properly worded my last sign-in about how great the DC show was and how honored i felt to be there to pay tribute to all our Vets, the ones who stood up that day and those who will never have the chance. Comments: The other night I dreamed that I was driving down a road in the middle of nowhere--my son, 16, in the passenger seat. Suddenly I spot Paul Revere & the Raiders running past us in the opposite direction, dressed in full regalia. They hadn't aged a bit in over 30 years--which amazed me. I turned to my son and said, "That's Paul Revere & the Raiders! They were really popular when I was a kid, back in the 60's. Uncle Mike (my older brother)had one of their records, and I thought they were so cool. One time they even came to Columbus (my hometown) for a concert." I drove a few yards more, then decided to make a U-turn and try to catch up with them. Unfortunately, before I could do that, my dog started wretching on a bone and woke me up. Aaah! It may sound dumb, but I was actually disappointed! I wanted to tell the guys how much they had meant to me, that they held a fond place in my childhood memories. So this is my way of doing that. Comments: My daughter (age 15) and I were on the front row of the Pensacola concert, Sept. 18. (I was the annoying one with all the constant camera flashes -- got great shots.) We were just wowed by the concert. The band is just as good as it was on "Where the Action Is" when I was her age. Daughter Katie is developmentally and visually disabled but loves the good music of my era more than I do. She played "name that tune's artist" that night. Whenever a selection started, she'd say who recorded it (originally) within five seconds. We wanted to get Paul's signature and her picture with him after the concert but the line was just too long for her to handle. I have ordered two CD's: THE WALL for me and GREATED HITS for her. Bonnie and I were at the Huntsville, Al Big Spring Jam and spoke to you after the concert about the TRAIL OF TEARS RIDE. The Ride is always the 3rd weekend of Sept. and it leaves Cherokee, NC. on Fri.and ends in Tahlequah, Ok on Tues. The Trail Of Tears, is the route that the the eastern Cherokee, Choctaw, Chickasaw, Creek, & Seminole Nations were forced to travel on when they were FORCED from their civilized Native American homes in the 1830's. Over 4000 men, women, & children perished, during harsh conditions from bad weather & starvation to mention a few.

Your Ride to the Wall Album (of which I now have a signed copy) brings back many memories both good and some no so good but I'm proud to be a Viet Nam Vet and an American and thank God for folks like you who are doing so many wonderful things to help those of us who need it. am fortunate to have a great life in this country the best DAMNED COUNTRY IN THE WORLD! Comments: I just got home from a Raiders' concert. My autographed copy of Ride to the Wall is playing as I write this. Paul's theme at the show was the forgotten Viet Nam vets. He said that a lot of the vets have Hepatitis C, of which I was unaware. It just so happens that as I waited between gigs, I was reading a book on that subject.

Usual treatments for HCV are VERY costly, $10,000 or so per year, if the patient is a candidate for the treatment at all. For those who fail treatment, HCV is the main reason for (Terribly expensive) liver transplants in this country. I am sure that there must be many vets with no insurance, and no hope of treatment for their disease.

On the other hand, I work with herbalists, and the concensus among them is that hepatitis C is a "non-issue"--that is, herbalists CURE it without problems. The problem they have is getting the word out to the thousands affected.

So, I propose that if there is interest, we form some kind of a project to connect needy veterans with an EFFECTIVE alternative treatment program. I have some connections with the latter, you guys have the connections with the vets. (Though I am a veteran, I really have no such connections anymore.) What do you think? Comments: My husband and I have seen at least ten live Raider performances; the last one at the Emerald Queen Casino. But, the one that will forever hold a special place in our hearts was held last year just a few days after 9/11 in Puyallup, Washington.

This was the first time that the band had performed since the tragedy. They did an outstanding job with compassion and empathy.

Not only were we entertained but also given the chance to bond together in morning and begin to "heal" because of Paul's words on behalf of the band.

It certainly isn't what you would expect from most Rock and Roll bands. I am proud that Paul Revere & The Raiders have chosen to be different. And, proud to be a fan.

Bought the Ride To The Wall CD and played it in the car on the ride back to West Palm. Your renditions of the songs are excellent. Sounds very very close to the originals. Congratulations! Job well done! I had you all sign the CD as I am going to give it to a good friend of mine, Paul Lanza, when I go to Montreal in June. He is an older brother of one of my best friends I grew up with. He is a Canadian, as are Diane and I, and he volonterred for Vietnam. He spent almost 4 years there, was shot in the knee, and came back to Canada pretty messed up. However, I am glad to say that he
picked himself up, and went on to marry a very nice lady and is still married today, 28 years now and has 2 very healthy sons. I know he will appreciate the CD and everything you guys are doing for the Vietnam Vets.
